To generate labels in INCO format, you can use the mail merge functions of the tools of the Microsoft or Google suite.

We specify below a step-by-step tutorial for printing INCO labels from Microsoft Word.

Prepare your documents

To begin with:

  • Plan your production and check the done slider: the corresponding tasks will feed the INCO label view.
  • Go to the list of INCO labels in the traceability section;
  • Apply the correct filters to obtain a list of suitable documents;
  • Click on Export to obtain an Excel file containing all the data useful for labeling.

Secondly, download the INCO label template.

This template is a document that you can customize to your liking.

Alternatively, you can:

  • use a solution dedicated to printing labels and import the Excel file;
  • subscribe to the API module and carry out a personalized integration between melba and a third-party templating service.

How to import INCO data into a model

Once you have the data in an Excel file and a label template, you can relate the two.

Our template is by default linked to the file you downloaded. Place them in the same directory. When opening, Microsoft Word offers you to update the document, accept or look for the downloaded Excel file if it is not recognized.

If the connection is not made automatically:

  • Open the Word template;
  • In the ribbon, click on Mailings then Select recipients then Use an existing list;
  • Load the downloaded Excel file.

Refer to Microsoft Word Help if necessary.

How to generate an INCO label for each line

In the template, you can switch from one data row to another via the Mailings ribbon and the Preview Results section .

It shows changes. These changes are located where the model contains formulas to retrieve the data from the Excel file.

To see the rendering of each line, just click on the previous and next buttons in this section.

How to change the formulas of the INCO template

The display rules depend on formulas.

When you click on the data that can change, they are highlighted. You can right-click then choose Toggle Field Codes.

This brings up a formula surrounded by braces. You can change these formulas using the dedicated help of Microsoft Word .

How to change the format of the INCO document

To change the format of the document, you can use any formatting available in Microsoft Word.

Specifically:

  • To change the size of the label: go to the ribbon, section Layout then Margins and Size;
  • To change the typography: go to the main ribbon.

How to start printing

To start printing all your labels:

  • Go to the Mailings ribbon section Finish / Finish & Merge;
  • Choose the Edit individual documents option .

A document for all your labels is generated. You can now print it with your default printer.
