Melba credits: what are they for?
Credits power Melba's AI features — invoice scanning, catalog scanning and more. Here's how you get them and what they do.
Melba credits are used to run the app's artificial-intelligence features. They are not related to referrals — those are two separate things.
What credits are used for
Credits are consumed by actions that rely on artificial intelligence, for example:
- supplier invoice scanning — 1 credit per scanned page;
- catalog scanning;
- other AI-assisted processing described in your dashboard.
Some actions usually tied to a paid module can also be performed occasionally by spending credits, when the matching module isn't subscribed (for example planning a production run without the Recipes & Sales Pro module).
How to get credits
- You receive a batch of credits with every subscription payment.
- You can buy more at any time if you make heavy use of the AI features.

Do I need credits to use Melba?
No. Melba's core features (recipes, stock, orders, production, sales…) depend on your subscription and modules, not on credits. Credits only apply to artificial-intelligence processing.
